Description
Eerie Wanda is an indie pop band led by the Dutch–Croatian singer-songwriter Marina Tadic.[1][2][3] Other band members include bassist Jasper Verhulst, drummer Nic Niggebrugge, keyboardist Jeroen de Heuvel, and lead guitarist Bram Vervaet.[1][3][4]
The band formed when Tadic was working as a guitarist for Amsterdam band Earth Mk. II,[3][4][5] and her demo tapes were discovered by Verhulst, the bassist for Jacco Gardner. Verhulst subsequently started performing with her, and Eerie Wanda was eventually formed.[3][4] The band’s debut album Hum was released in 2016, and a second album, Pet Town, was released in January 2019.[2] For Pet Town, each band member recorded their respective parts at their homes, and they were later remotely pieced together. Tadic said of the process: “I’e written the songs in a period of my life in which I was feeling quite alone. I wanted the recording process to feel like that too.”[1] The band is part of the Joyful Noise Recordings label.[5][6]
